Row: Scullers Halliday and Houston make semis

Australia's world champion women lightweight scullers are through to the Olympic semi-finals.

AMBER HALLIDAY and MARGUERITE HOUSTON have finished two lengths behind the Dutch crew
who took bronze at the Athens Games four years ago and clocked the fastest time in the
heats today.

The Australians just held off a challenge by the American crew .. by 0.09 of a second.

The men's lightweight double sculls crew of SAM BELTZ and TOM GIBSON finished third
in their heat behind the Italians and Chinese .. and must go through a repechage to make
the semis.
